What retreat attendees say

Hear from founders who’ve experienced the Startup Weekend Retreat.

“I arrived on Friday with a vague idea and left on Sunday with a complete business plan, a pitch I was proud of, and three new friends who are now my accountability partners. The retreat exceeded every expectation I had.”

Alex R.

Retreat Attendee · Founder, GreenBox Deliveries

“The combination of expert-led workshops and time to actually work on your own business was perfect. I’ve been to events before where you learn a lot but do nothing with it. This was the opposite — I left with real, tangible progress and a network of people who genuinely care about my success.”

Hannah L.

Retreat Attendee · Founder, Studio Forty

“Being surrounded by other aspiring founders for an entire weekend was incredibly motivating. The mentors were generous with their time and gave feedback that genuinely changed the direction of my business — for the better. The fireside chat on Friday night alone was worth the trip.”

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Two nights of accommodation (Friday and Saturday) are included in the retreat price. Shared rooms are standard; private room upgrades may be available depending on the venue. We’ll share full accommodation details once the venue is confirmed.
All meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch are included: three dinners or lunches, two breakfasts, plus refreshments and snacks throughout. We cater for all common dietary requirements — just let us know when you register.
Having at least a rough idea will help you get the most out of the weekend. The retreat is designed to help you validate, develop, and plan the launch of a specific business — not to find an idea from scratch. If you’re still exploring, start with our free monthly webinar to build clarity first.
We recommend having at least a general direction. However, if you’re strongly drawn to the retreat format and have several ideas you’re considering, the weekend can help you evaluate and choose the best one. Contact us to discuss your situation and we’ll let you know if the retreat is right for your stage.
A laptop, comfortable clothing for the weekend, an open mind, and any research or notes you’ve already gathered about your business idea. We provide all workshop materials, templates, and stationery. Pack as if you’re going on a relaxed weekend away — there’s no dress code.
We’ll share full travel and directions information once the venue is confirmed. Our venues are selected to be accessible by public transport and car. If you’re driving, free parking is typically available. We can help coordinate carpools between attendees travelling from similar areas.
Full refund if you cancel 30 or more days before the retreat. 50% refund for cancellations 14–29 days before. Within 14 days, we can’t offer a refund due to accommodation and catering commitments, but we can transfer your place to a future retreat. If you find a replacement attendee, we’ll transfer the booking at no charge.
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Working on the same business together during the retreat is incredibly productive. Each person needs their own ticket, but contact us about partner discounts when you register.

Not ready for a retreat?
